Entity Rollup
Use Fund Operations → Fund Overview → Entity Rollup for an entity-level lookthrough of subscriptions, allocated investments and fund-account cash. Expand Entity → Section → Record to understand the source of a displayed amount. It is an operational view, not a consolidated balance sheet or posted NAV statement.
Set a comparable scope
Select Entity and As of Date, then optionally Share Class. Confirm the selected values before comparing another app. The date limits relevant recorded flows, cash movements and effective allocation schemes. Current master status and relationships can still affect the result; this is not a complete historical reconstruction of every master-record change.
Share Class narrows subscriptions and investment allocation portions, and identifies their parent Entity. Accounts still shows that Entity's full recorded account-transaction balance. It does not become share-class-owned cash. For cash explicitly assigned to a class, use Organization → Share Class Structure, which uses the current date. If your workspace also has Fund Overview → Structure, use its As of Date filter for the corresponding class view.
Read the three perspectives
Subscriptions show investor participation in the fund, investments show the fund's allocated positions, and accounts show its recorded cash. Investor funding can finance both investments and cash; adding the subscription value to those assets counts the same financing twice. Within the tree, a section total already includes its detail rows. Neither relationship makes the tree a NAV calculation.
The fictional example below demonstrates the overlap.
Native app with fictional Cedarbridge Example Fund LP selected, no Share Class restriction and As of Date August 31, 2026. All three sections are expanded.
The example displays:
- Subscriptions: Cedarbridge Core Subscription; Contributions USD100,000 and Current Value USD100,000.
- Investments: Harbor Example Software; Contributions USD40,000 and Current Value USD40,000, allocated 100% to Class A.
- Accounts: Cedarbridge Example Operating USD; Current Value USD58,800. Contributions is blank for account rows.
Do not add the three sections together. The subscription funding financed the investment and remaining cash. Adding it again to those assets double-counts the same funding. Section totals also repeat their expanded detail rows. The blank Entity total avoids implying that this tree produces NAV.
The Reserve USD account exists in Fund Structure but has a zero transaction balance, so it is absent here. No account row does not mean that the account was deleted.
Understand Current Value
For subscriptions, Contributions includes recorded contributions, Contributions - NIC (Not Included in Commitment) and purchases, presented as positive paid-in amounts. Capital-call and distribution notices are excluded from funded economics. Current Value uses the latest recorded fair value plus subsequent relevant flows and valuation discounts, or a contribution/distribution-based fallback if no fair value exists. Closed/transferred status can change the result.
Investment values use an effective allocation scheme and its share-class percentage, with corresponding contribution and valuation logic. The fallback USD40,000 in this example is not proof of an independently recorded valuation. An investment allocated to more than one class can produce more than one portion under the same Entity; repeated investment references can therefore be legitimate. Use Allocations to inspect the scheme and class percentages, or Structure if that tab is installed in your workspace.
Account values add recorded transaction totals through the selected date for eligible accounts. They are system cash values, not bank-statement balances or posted GL cash. They do not require the transaction to have a valid class owner before contributing to this entity-level account total. Use Cash Recon → Bank Tie-Out to compare bank, system cash and GL.
The fictional example is entirely USD. Check the source currencies before comparing amounts in a mixed-currency organization; the common currency format does not establish an FX conversion.
Investigate a missing or unexpected amount
- Recheck Entity, Share Class and As of Date, then any local Search or Filter.
- Expand the relevant section and open the Name reference. IDs from different source tables are not interchangeable.
- For subscriptions, inspect the Share Class relationship, status, activity categories, dates and valuation history.
- For investments, inspect the effective allocation scheme, owner class, percentage and underlying activities.
- For cash, inspect the existing account transactions in Cash → Data. Use Transaction Explorer for records that have cash splits, and Cash Recon for independent coverage and balance checks.
Correct the owning source through its permitted editor or approved procedure, then refresh under the same scope. Do not insert replacement rows in an attempt to make this tree match an expected total. An empty section can be a valid result of scope or missing qualifying relationships; it is not proof that the underlying process is complete.
