Subscriptions
Fund Operations → Subscriptions
A subscription records one subscriber's participation in a receiving Share Class. Start here when a new investor is joining the fund, an existing holder's details need review, or you need to follow that participation's capital activity.
Follow a participation through time
The subscription is the continuing relationship between a holder and a receiving fund class. Its master identifies the parties and current terms. Activities attach dated changes to that relationship, so a commitment, a request for funding and a funded contribution can be followed separately without creating a new subscription for each event.
A commitment states the amount of participation undertaken. A capital call records a request to supply funding against that participation. A contribution records the funding event. The contribution can reference its call, while a cash-split link supplies the separate connection to a bank receipt. This separation lets you distinguish an outstanding request from recorded funding and then verify its cash evidence.
First confirm the subscriber and receiving class in Data. Onboarding shows subscriptions in the configured review queues. Once operating events are recorded, Activity shows the dated commitments, calls, contributions and distributions; Performance calculates capital, remaining value and returns through the selected date.
For example, the Core subscription has a USD100,000 commitment, a capital-call notice and a contribution. The commitment states the participation, the call records the request for funding, and the contribution records the funded event. Use Record Explorer to inspect the contribution's cash links before concluding that money was received.
Understand the records
Use the master to answer who participates and on what current terms; use activities to answer what changed and when. Performance combines selected activity categories rather than adding every event. A notice and the contribution responding to it are stages of the same funding sequence, so including both as cash would count the funding twice.
The subscription master and its activities are separate records. A current Commitment Amount can differ from a historical calculation based on activity dates; check the source and cutoff before comparing them. Record Explorer follows one selected Table and Record / ID across saved relationships and does not apply an As of Date cutoff.
