FundOps Recon Dashboard
Open Fund Operations → FundOps Recon → FundOps Recon Dashboard when you need to decide what to investigate next. A recorded contribution may have a matching cash link while its call still lacks the supporting notice document. The dashboard separates those questions into eight controls, so a clear cash check does not hide a document task.
Read a control with its population
A population is the set of eligible records a control examined. An exception is a failure of that control’s comparison or required condition. Read both together: zero exceptions among eligible records is different from zero records available to test.
The controls begin from different questions. Notice checks compare a request with responding activities; cash checks compare eligible activities with settlement links; integrity checks test usable facts and references; allocation and document controls examine their specific relationships. One event can pass some and fail others because each tests a separate dependency.
The Core example below has two missing-document requirements. Follow that count into Activity Document Coverage, identify the exact notices and return after the evidence relationship is corrected. The dashboard summarizes checks; it does not approve a close.
The Recon Exceptions cards count exceptions, not the total records examined. The Control Summary adds the population and its unit:
- Investment Notices and Subscription Notices compare notices with their linked activities. Each example population is one Notice.
- Activity → Cash examines cash-moving activities against stored Cash Split links. The example contains three Activities.
- Activity Integrity examines core operating fields, dates and references. The example contains six Activities, including commitments and notices as well as funding.
- Allocation Schemes checks participation-scheme integrity. The example contains one Scheme.
- Allocation Coverage checks allocation coverage for its eligible Source Records. The example population is two.
- Documents checks supporting-document requirements on notice activities. The example has two Document Requirements, both Unmatched.
- Subscription Transfers counts Control Checks rather than transfers. The example has no transfers and population zero.
The difference between three cash-moving activities and six integrity activities is expected: their populations answer different questions. Do not treat it as missing rows.
Clear means this control has no exceptions in the returned population. A population of zero is also Clear; it does not prove the organization has completed that process. Needs Review means one or more exceptions remain.
Read Invalid, Unmatched, Mismatched and Open with the destination check's meaning. Open here is used for a transfer workflow check; it is not an accounting-period status. Oldest Exception is the earliest available source date among that control's exceptions, not necessarily a payment deadline.
Set the scope before reading the counts
Choose Entity and As of Date, wait for the cards, table and charts to finish loading, then read the same scope in the detail tab. Clear Entity to broaden the population. Different checks derive Entity through their own source relationships; an unassigned record may only appear with Entity cleared.
As of Date limits source populations according to each check. Current links and later edits are not reconstructed into a historical audit snapshot. In particular, read the warning in Activity → Cash before making any historical-settlement conclusion.
Entirely fictional example: Cedarbridge Example Fund LP #1, August 31, 2026. Documents has two Unmatched requirements and Needs Review. The other seven controls are Clear.
Use the charts to prioritize, not to certify
Exception counts help route investigation, but they do not measure the financial size of a problem. A single source can generate several failed conditions and appear in several controls. Historical-looking year groups also describe the source dates of today’s exceptions, not the exception state that existed at those year ends.
Despite its title Exception Rate by Control, the left chart shows each control's share of the current exception count, not exceptions divided by that control's own population. In this example, Documents accounts for 100% of the two current exceptions.
Exceptions by Year groups current exceptions by their source-record year. It is not a history of how many exceptions existed at past year ends. Undated exceptions cannot be placed in a year slice.
One source record can fail several controls, so adding exception counts is not a count of unique records to repair. Neither chart represents financial exposure or materiality.
Open a check and resolve the cause
Use a Recon Exceptions card or the app's native page tabs to open the relevant control. The tabs follow the installed app order; the cards/table currently use a different order, so navigate by the control's name.
Use the cards or native tabs rather than the Control Summary table's links. The current table links can open incorrect Entity/date values. If you followed one, explicitly reselect Entity and As of Date before interpreting an empty result. Always confirm the destination's visible scope.
For the example, open Activity Document Coverage through More pages or the Documents card. Identify the two notice requirements and the exact source records they belong to. Attach or link the appropriate evidence to those owning records through the supported document workflow; a document elsewhere in the organization is not automatically linked evidence. Do not invent a document or duplicate a notice to clear the count.
For another exception, read its issue and follow the Activity Explorer, Cash Explorer or source reference offered by that detail tab. Repair the evidenced owning record with the required permissions, refresh the check in the same scope, then return here and refresh to confirm the count changes.
A cleared FundOps control does not post journals, reconcile the bank, lock records or sign off a period. Continue to Cash Recon and Accounting Review & Close for their separate cash and accounting checks.
