Class Roll-Up
A class-level capital total is built from investor accounts. If an active subscription has no account, its accounting history cannot contribute through the expected relationship; overlapping accounts can also distort the population. A zero or apparently plausible total can therefore conceal a coverage problem.
Open Accounting → Fees & Capital Allocations → Class Roll-Up to compare active subscriptions, covered subscriptions and their matching capital accounts alongside the accumulated ledger balance. Establish who is included before comparing that balance with the GL.
Scope and read the class
Choose Entity, Accounting Period, optionally Share Class, and Recon Status. Exceptions focuses on breaks; All includes Ready rows.
Fictional Class A is Blocked because its roll-up has missing or duplicate capital accounts. Read the counts to distinguish the cause rather than inferring duplication from the combined message.
The same row, scrolled horizontally: 1 Active Subscription, 0 Capital Accounts and 0 Covered Subscriptions. Capital Account NAV is USD0 because there is no capital ledger in this example; it is not an assertion that the funded investment has zero economic value.
Understand the population
The counts answer whether the class's intended active-subscription population is represented. Capital Account NAV answers what the matched accounts' signed ledger history totals through the cutoff. These are separate tests: agreement between counts does not establish correct movements, while an amount of zero does not explain whether accounts are absent or simply have no net balance.
One row represents a Share Class and commitment currency, driven by subscriptions currently Active and effective by period end. This differs from Subscription Coverage's non-Pending/non-Canceled population and close-date rules; counts across those tabs need not always match.
The control compares distinct counts of active subscriptions, covered subscriptions and matching capital accounts. Its monetary Capital Account NAV sums ledger movements through period end for those matched accounts. It is not a freshly calculated investment valuation or bank balance.
Ready means the displayed coverage counts agree. Accounts associated with subscriptions outside this population may be absent, so also use Subscription Coverage and the account registry when checking completeness.
Investigate the counts
- Open the Share Class reference and confirm the intended Entity.
- Use Subscription Coverage with the same class and period to identify subscriptions with missing, duplicate or mis-scoped accounts. Account for the population differences described above.
- Inspect the registry and individual movements in Accounting Operations → Capital Accounts.
- Review Roll-Forward to explain the ledger balance, then Equity Tie-Out to compare it with posted GL.
Keep currencies separate. A total across currencies is not an FX-converted NAV. Ask the accounting owner to resolve registry or ledger gaps; ask FundOps to correct an incorrect subscription relationship or effective status.
