Allocation Detail
A cohort allocation presentation groups investors according to participation timing and shows the income, expense or unrealized amounts attributed under a configured convention. Before using the figures, identify which calculation window supplies the pools and how cohort membership is inferred. Those choices determine what the amounts mean and can differ from the selected report heading.
Open Accounting → Reports → Allocation Detail to inspect this configured presentation. It looks to an earlier allocation window and can derive values from fallback inputs, so its displayed row is not proof that a current-period allocation run was finalized or delivered.
Choose the reporting scope
Select Entity and its matching Accounting Period. This tab does not consume an Allocation Run selector. Its source calculation looks for the latest allocation run ending before the selected report starts, rather than simply displaying a current-period run.
That earlier run is selected entity-wide without a Finalized-status restriction. If no such run exists, it derives an earlier allocation window from the report start. A missing period can resolve to the latest entity period, while a mismatched selection can use calendar-year fallback dates. A current report heading therefore does not prove that the amounts belong to the current reporting period.
The screenshot uses Cedarbridge Reporting Example LP, July–September 2026, with prepared fictional USD inputs. No accounting allocation run was created or finalized.
Although the report header shows Q3, the prior-period fallback is January–June 2026. The July commitment is New and prior-window allocation pools are zero; no allocation run was prepared.
Read the cohort presentation carefully
Read cohort labels as instructions about the report's grouping, then establish the source pool behind each component. Adding Income First Close, Unrealized All and Expense All produces the displayed Total FY Allocation; it does not establish that those components belong to the current quarter or correspond to saved current-run lines. A prior-window fallback can legitimately show no allocation from a later event. Confirm the approved convention before presenting these outputs as an investor entitlement.
Read Limited Partner, Close, Final Commitment, Income First Close, Unrealized All, Expense All and Total FY Allocation.
First, Second and New are inferred cohort labels in this configured presentation, using commitment timing and other population rules. They are not independently verified legal-close records or universal allocation policy.
The calculation can use prior run lines, capital transactions and commitment-based fallback pools. Unrealized and expense pools are presented as negative allocations. Total FY Allocation adds the three displayed allocation components. Multiple run lines for one subscription can repeat its presentation row; display row numbers are not subscription or run-line IDs. Establish the actual source identities before totaling.
Final Commitment prefers reconstructed activity history with a fallback to the current subscription commitment. This differs from reports that rely solely on historical commitment activities. Confirm the actual basis when comparing schedules.
Use the detailed controls for a current run
For current-period run review, go to Fees & Capital Allocations → Allocation Tie-Out / Allocation Recipients. Select the intended window/version and inspect actual recipient capital effects. The cohort report does not prove that an allocation was finalized, posted or delivered.
If this presentation differs, first identify the selected prior run, its status/window, cohort assignment and fallback inputs. Do not create or rerun an allocation just to make the reports match. Ask the accounting owner to confirm that this configured convention is appropriate for the intended client output.
A row derived from fallback inputs, whether zero or nonzero, does not establish that an accounting allocation run completed. USD formatting also does not establish currency conversion.
For this example, no prior run exists. The configured fallback window is January 1–June 30, 2026, although the selected report heading shows Q3. The July 1 commitment is therefore shown as New, and the earlier window's allocation pools are zero. This is why the row does not repeat the USD500 gain and USD200 expenses prepared for Q3. Zero here does not mean Q3 had no earnings or that an allocation completed.
