Allocation Scheme Integrity
Before relying on a participation scheme, check that its owners resolve and its selected percentages total 100%. Use Fund Operations → FundOps Recon → Allocation Scheme Integrity for that review. Each row is one Allocation Scheme.
Reveal the scheme behind an empty exception view
A scheme defines a participation arrangement from an effective date. To evaluate that arrangement, this control first selects the owner entries that apply at the scheme’s own date, then checks whether their references resolve and percentages total complete participation. The choice of date is part of the test, not just a display filter.
A later entry does not repair an incomplete owner set at the earlier scheme date. Coverage may use that later entry for a later source event, which is why the two controls can disagree while following their own rules correctly.
In the Core example, Class A's one effective entry supplies 100% of Scheme #1. That establishes the configured owner/percentage check at the scheme date. Allocation Coverage asks the next question: whether the right scheme and owner entries apply to each source record at its date. Neither check calculates or posts period capital allocations.
Choose Entity and As of Date, then wait for the result. The configured table filter is Recon Status → Not equals → Matched. No results can mean no exceptions among the schemes returned in that scope.
For the example, choose Cedarbridge Example Fund LP #1 and August 31, 2026. Open Filter, remove the Recon Status condition and choose Apply Filters to inspect the passing scheme. To return to exceptions, add the same Not equals Matched condition and apply it.
Scheme #1, Cedarbridge Core Participation, is Matched after the exception filter is removed. Its Effective Date is July 1, 2026, and it has one effective owner entry.
Understand which entries are counted
For each owner in a scheme, this control takes that owner's latest Allocation Entry effective on or before the scheme's Effective Date. A later effective entry is not substituted simply because the report's As of Date is later. If an owner has several effective entry versions, the latest qualifying date, then ID, determines the selected version.
As of Date limits which scheme dates are included; it does not turn this into a current ownership snapshot. Undated schemes can remain in the population. Current stored records are used, so the result does not reconstruct what the database contained before later edits.
Entries counts the selected owner entries, not every historical entry row. Its link opens Allocation Entries filtered to that scheme; compare dates there because the destination can include additional versions.
In the example, Allocation Entry #1 belongs to Scheme #1 and names Share Class → Cedarbridge Example Fund LP — Class A #1, at 100.00%, effective July 1. These #1 IDs identify different tables. The scheme's separate Allocated Item links it to Harbor Example Software; this integrity check does not itself test the covered-item links.
Read the percentage and the issue
The same scheme after horizontal scrolling: Allocation Total 100.00%, Difference 0.00%, Invalid Owners 0 and one Entity. Finalized At is displayed as July 1.
Allocation Total sums the selected percentages. Difference is the total less 100%, expressed as a percentage difference, not money. Check the individual owners as well as the total: 100% alone does not prove the intended participants were chosen. Do not add percentage totals across unrelated schemes.
A scheme is Invalid if the configured checks detect any of these:
- Missing Allocation Entries: no qualifying effective entries.
- Missing Allocation Percent: a selected entry has no percentage.
- Allocation Does Not Total 100%: the selected percentages do not meet the total check.
- Invalid Owner Reference: the Entity, Share Class or Subscription owner cannot be resolved with the required context.
- Scheme Spans Multiple Entities: selected owners belong to more than one Entity.
The last item is this control's rule, not permission to change a legitimate legal structure. Review a genuinely shared scheme with the responsible operator rather than moving owners simply to remove a flag.
Finalized At is displayed context, not a tested requirement for Matched, a lock, a posting status or a period sign-off.
Check completeness outside a selected Entity
Entity filtering depends on qualifying owner entries. An entryless scheme or one with unresolved owners can disappear under an Entity filter. Clear Entity when investigating missing schemes or owners. A clear selected-Entity view is not proof that every scheme is complete.
For a shared scheme that qualifies, the control evaluates the whole selected owner set, not just the selected Entity's percentage. Entities counts the resolved owner Entities; its link also opens the scheme's participant rows for investigation.
Correct the scheme, not the control result
Open the Allocation Scheme reference or Entries, then compare the scheme date, owner type/ID, entry dates and percentages with the participation evidence. Maintain the owning records in Fund Operations → Allocations → Data, respecting permissions and locks. Do not duplicate an entry or change its date just to make a total pass.
Refresh this control in the same scope and confirm the specific issue clears. Then use Allocation Coverage to check whether the appropriate scheme applies to the source records at their dates. Passing one control does not imply passing the other.
Rows can be selected for context in an available assistant workflow; selection itself makes no record changes.
