Data Locks
Use Cash & Treasury → Cash Recon → Data Locks to review eligible unlocked Accounting and Fees records around the selected period.
The page is titled Accounting – Unlocked Rows. Despite its position in Cash Recon, this tab is not an inventory of unlocked bank feeds, accounts, transactions, cash splits or all FundOps records. For consolidated visibility, use Fund Organization → Data Locks.
Choose Entity and the review period
A lock protects a particular saved record against ordinary editing. This view locates eligible records that currently remain unlocked within the review scope. It does not decide whether the records are financially correct, whether all required records exist, or whether the accounting period has been closed.
Different record types relate to a period differently: a journal belongs to a period or entry date, an effective range can overlap it, and undated setup can remain relevant throughout it. Read the actual table and record before interpreting a row count as quarter-specific work.
Set Year, Entity and Accounting Period using the native selectors. Recheck the period after changing Year or Entity because dependent options can reset. A specific accounting period takes precedence over Year; All periods uses the selected year.
This tab has no As of Date control. A date carried in the browser URL from another tab does not turn this list into historical lock evidence.
Historical starting state: fictional Cedarbridge Example Fund LP, Year 2026 and Q3 2026. The unlocked Acct Periods row is period #1, starting July 1. Draft journal #1 and its lines had not yet been added when this image was captured; the period is Open.
The date filter depends on the record type. Event and entry dates scope activities, while periods and effective ranges qualify when they overlap the selected period. Journals and fee records can qualify through their accounting period. Setup records without dates, including GL accounts and applicable organization-wide posting rules, can remain visible. This is not a list of records created during the quarter.
Expand to actual records
Expand Group → Table, then inspect the leaf Record reference. Cmd/Ctrl-click it to open the underlying object. Identify a record by its table and ID: period #1, journal #1 and fee run #1 are different objects.
Rows counts physical source records, not financial amounts or reconciliation exceptions. Do not add group totals to their expanded details. Last Edited is current audit/update metadata, not a lock time, close date or reviewer approval.
The period-only image shows the starting state before the prepared Draft journal existed. Later expense and journal guides inspect Journal #1 and its two lines, which can add eligible unlocked rows under the same review scope. A larger later count is therefore not evidence that the period became less reconciled. Compare the actual tables and IDs at the same scope; this list reports existing unlocked records and cannot prove that required journals were created.
Select carefully before protecting records
Select the intended leaf row, then check the selected-record count. Header or group selections can include additional records; clear an uncertain selection before acting.
Native selection-toolbar detail from the same fictional example: one record selected, with History, Comment and Lock actions. “Lock selected rows” was available for this Admin session. No lock was executed; the selection was cleared afterward.
For an Admin with eligible selected records and known lock states, the native toolbar can offer Lock selected rows. The image demonstrates that action's availability for one selected record; it does not demonstrate a lock. If the action is absent, ask your administrator to check the selected IDs, role and action configuration.
Before locking, confirm the source tables, IDs, scope and completed review. The screenshots show inspection and selection; no lock or unlock was performed in this example.
Keep three kinds of evidence separate
For period #1, Open is the accounting-period status. The unlocked-row list says which eligible records remain editable. Neither tells you whether the journals, fees and reconciliations are complete; inspect those results and the recorded review separately.
Locking the period row protects that row. It does not close the period or automatically lock all journals, sources and fee records belonging to it. Each related record has its own lock state. An unlocked row can be correct, and a locked row can still need an authorized correction.
For an authorized lock operation in your workflow, refresh afterward, inspect the original records' actual lock states and compare consolidated Data Locks under equivalent filters. A row disappearing from an unlocked-only list is not sufficient evidence on its own.
Use Accounting Operations to investigate source records and journals, Fees & Capital Allocations for those calculations, and Accounting Review & Close for the GL → Gross NAV → Fees → Capital Allocations → Final Close checks. Preserve correction reasons and rerun affected checks after an authorized change.
An unlocked Open period does not establish whether Q3 is ready to close. Inspect its dates and status, review the relevant journals and fees, and confirm the selected source records before using a lock action. Clearing a row selection leaves the records unchanged.
