Cash Recon
Cash & Treasury → Cash Recon
Use Cash Recon to locate a break between bank evidence, system transactions, cash splits and their business links. Each check starts from a particular record layer, so a passing result answers one defined question.
Follow the break to its owner
Begin with the relationship that should connect two facts. A feed item should have appropriate system representation; a transaction should have bank support and complete split allocation; a split should have the appropriate business application and owner. Each comparison starts at a different side of those relationships.
This matters when one side is missing. A system receipt with no feed support can pass the transaction-to-splits check because its portions total correctly. A feed-only check cannot discover that unsupported receipt if there is no feed row to start from. Review both directions of source matching before interpreting a clear count.
In the separate Entity #2 example, a USD400 system receipt has a complete split linked to Income #2, but no bank-feed link. It can pass the transaction-to-split check while remaining Unmatched in Account Transactions to Feed Recon. Correcting the income link does not supply the missing bank evidence.
Start with the dashboard or the check for your question. Confirm Entity, account and date where those controls are available. Trace the exact source references and use Transaction Explorer for the cash chain. After an authorized correction, refresh the detail and dashboard in the same scope.
Understand the records
The controls measure different units: records, link allocations, owner/account groups and bank-to-GL bridges. Their counts cannot be added as unique payments, and their amounts cannot be treated as one balance. Use the named comparison to identify the owning layer, then verify that layer’s facts and references.
Feed items, transactions, splits and links have different jobs. Counts can overlap across controls. Balance groups, split exceptions and bank-to-GL differences also measure different things; use Bank Tie-Out for the separate bank → system cash → posted cash GL comparison.
Tabs
Where to continue
Use Cash to maintain cash records and links. The Data Locks tab is a scoped control, not an account/period sign-off.
