Allocation Coverage
Use Fund Operations → FundOps Recon → Allocation Coverage when a source event needs to be attributed to its participants. The question is whether a linked scheme was effective for that event and whether its eligible owners supplied complete participation at that date.
Each row is an Investment Activity, an explicitly allocated Expense, or an explicitly allocated Income. Several activities of the same Investment can legitimately reference the same scheme.
Know the coverage population
The source event supplies the date at which ownership must be usable. For an Investment Activity, coverage follows the parent Investment’s item-to-scheme link. For an Income or Expense, an explicit Allocated Item must already connect the source itself. The control then asks whether a qualifying scheme and participants were effective for that event.
This explains two different omissions. Missing applicable ownership can generate an exception for an eligible source; a never-allocated Income or Expense does not enter this population at all. Review source-to-item completeness separately before treating a clear result as universal allocation coverage.
Harbor's July call and contribution use the same Core scheme because it covers Harbor and is effective before both events. The separate administration expense has no Allocated Item link and does not enter this check. Start with that population distinction before interpreting a clear result.
All Investment Activities are candidates, including notices and valuation events; this is not restricted to cash-moving categories. An Investment Activity is checked through its parent Investment's Allocated Item relationship.
Expenses and Incomes enter only when an Allocated Item already references that Expense or Income. Subscription Activities are outside this control's population.
An Expense or Income with no Allocated Item link is absent from this check, even with Entity cleared. A clear result does not establish that every Expense or Income has been allocated. Compare the source records and Allocated Items separately when checking completeness.
The example's separate USD1,200 administration Expense has no Allocated Item link, so it is absent here. Its absence is not evidence that its allocation was completed.
Start with exceptions, then inspect the example
Choose Cedarbridge Example Fund LP #1 and August 31, 2026. The configured filter is Recon Status → Not equals → Matched. In this example the initial result is empty. Remove that condition in Filter and choose Apply Filters to see the two passing rows. Re-add the same condition to return to exceptions.
Investment Activity #2, Harbor's July 15 Contribution, and Investment Activity #1, its July 10 Capital Call, both reference Scheme #1 with one selected owner entry. Both are Matched.
Read Source Record as the activity reference. Type: Investment identifies the allocation item type, not a second reference to the Investment master record. Open the source reference to distinguish its category and owner.
Compare the scheme at the source date
For each source record, the control selects the most recent linked scheme effective on or before that record's date. Within that scheme it selects each owner's latest entry effective on or before the same source date.
This differs from Allocation Scheme Integrity, which evaluates owner entries at the scheme's own Effective Date. The two checks can therefore produce different results without examining the same owner-date set.
As of Date limits source record dates. Undated records can remain in the population, but cannot establish dated applicability. The control uses current stored links and record versions; it is not a historical database snapshot. Scheme finalization is not required for Matched.
The same rows after horizontal scrolling: each source amount is −USD40,000, Allocation Total is 100.00%, Difference is 0.00%, Ineligible Owners is 0 and Entity Mismatches is 0.
A notice and its Contribution are not two separate USD40,000 cash payments. Likewise, two rows showing 100% do not mean 200% ownership. This is a source-record coverage list, not an additive cash-flow or percentage report.
Read the issue before repairing a link
Invalid means one or more configured checks failed; Recon Issue names them:
- Missing Applicable Scheme: no linked scheme is effective by the source date.
- Missing Allocation Entries, Missing Allocation Percent, or Allocation Does Not Total 100%: the selected owner-date set is incomplete.
- Ineligible or Missing Owner: the referenced owner is missing or fails an eligibility condition. For Subscription owners, check effective/close dates and cancellation status at the source date.
- Allocation Owner Entity Mismatch: a positive allocation on an Expense/Income points to an owner Entity different from that source record's Entity.
- Allocation Spans Multiple Entities: an Investment's selected owner coverage spans more than one Entity under this control's rule.
Review legitimate shared ownership rather than changing the legal structure to force a pass.
Entity can be derived from effective owner relationships for Investments. A missing scheme or owner can therefore make an Investment Activity disappear under a selected Entity. Clear Entity to investigate these orphans; this still does not bring never-allocated Expenses/Incomes into the population.
Follow the source and participant records
Open Source Record, Allocation Scheme or Entries. The Entries link opens all participant rows for the selected scheme, so compare effective dates rather than assuming every visible version was counted.
Correct the evidenced item-to-scheme link, participant reference, percentage or effective date in Allocations → Data. Correct a genuinely wrong source date or Entity in Investments → Activity or Incomes & Expenses → Data, based on evidence and the required permissions. Do not change a source amount, insert a duplicate event or attach an arbitrary scheme merely to clear the control.
Refresh with the same scope. Matched establishes this configured coverage check only; it does not calculate allocated accounting amounts, create journals, settle cash, establish document completeness or approve a period close. Row selection supplies context for an available assistant workflow and does not execute those actions.
