Cash
Cash & Treasury → Cash
Use Cash when a payment or receipt needs to be recorded, attributed or linked to the business event it settles. Start with the bank movement, then follow its system records before deciding whether anything is missing.
Follow cash from evidence to use
The feed preserves the imported bank or broker evidence. An Account Transaction represents the cash movement in the system. Cash Splits divide that movement into portions when different ownership or business treatment is needed. A split’s owner says to whom the cash is attributed; its Cash Split Links say which business records that portion settles.
Those relationships answer different questions. An owned split can still lack a business link, and a linked business event can still have incomplete ownership or bank evidence. Their amounts can repeat because they describe successive representations of the same movement. Follow the relationship that is missing or wrong before creating any additional cash.
The Core example receives USD100,000 from a subscriber. The bank feed supplies the imported evidence, the Account Transaction records the system cash movement, and the Cash Split identifies the operational portion and its owner. A Cash Split Link connects that portion to the subscription Contribution. Those records explain one receipt; their amounts are not additional receipts to add together.
Transaction Explorer brings this chain together and shows any accounting relationships. Select Entity and date there, then count each parent split once. Expanded source and journal rows provide detail. The transaction's stored Posted status does not establish that an accounting journal was posted.
Choose the next question
Use a source table when the recorded fact is wrong, an explorer when the relationship needs tracing, and the relevant reconciliation when the amounts or references need testing. Cash ownership, business application, bank support and journal posting can reach different states, so no single stored status answers all four questions.
Use Data for the owning cash records, Balance Snapshot for cash source and owner attribution, and Transfers for movements between the fund's accounts. Cash & Activity finds missing associations; Match Suggestions proposes possible pairs; Integrity examines existing links and parked unapplied cash. Check the filters available on the chosen tab because they differ.

Where to continue
Use Cash Recon for formal checks. A match suggestion is a candidate to investigate, not proof of a valid association.
