Match Suggestions
Use Cash & Treasury → Cash → Match Suggestions to review possible cash-to-activity associations. Certainty ranks matching rules; it is not approval to create a link.
Understand a proposed association
A bank movement and a source activity can be the two sides of the same settlement before a link has been saved. Suggestions compares eligible unlinked records for shared currency, nearby dates and similar absolute amounts. It narrows the search; the actual source evidence, identity, owner and purpose determine whether the relationship is correct.
Once a link exists, the pair leaves these candidate pools. A partly linked source is also excluded even if a balance remains outstanding. An empty suggestions page therefore says no eligible pair was returned under these rules, not that every source has been fully settled.
Choose Entity. This page has no account/date-range/as-of filter; selections on other Cash tabs do not supply a historical cutoff.
The first image shows the fictional receipt before its association was saved. The walkthrough then follows the saved link and the final empty suggestions page. Those are different stages of the same example; an empty current page does not mean the earlier receipt or income was deleted.
Fictional Entity #2: Cash Split #4 and Incomes #1 form a High suggestion, each showing USD250 dated October 5, 2026. This is a proposed association; no link has yet been saved. These records use the separate matching account and do not fund the pending subscription.
Both the cash split and the activity must have no existing cash-split link, a recorded amount and date, and a currency. Partially linked activities are excluded; this page does not propose matches for their outstanding remainder.
No results can also reflect missing fields, excluded categories, dates outside the matching window or no sufficiently similar amount. It does not prove all activities are settled or every existing link is correct.
Read a proposed pair when rows exist
Each row represents one cash/activity pair. A cash split or activity can occur in multiple alternatives. Row counts and summed amounts therefore do not represent unique unmatched cash.
The Cash column group retains Cash Id, Date and Amount when collapsed; expand it for Cash Description. The Activity group retains Origin, Id, Date, Amount and Category. Use Currency, Investor Name and Share Class as investigation context.
Open Cash Id and the typed Activity Origin + Activity Id references. Compare the actual source and cash records, not just their descriptions.
What High, Medium and Low mean
The rank describes how closely a pair meets the matching rules. A unique exact date/amount/currency key can rank High because no other eligible candidate shares that key in the selected pools. Uniqueness reduces ambiguity within the candidate set; it does not verify the payer, economic owner, cash direction or supporting evidence. A repeated legitimate payment can rank lower simply because another candidate has the same amount.
Every proposed pair uses identical stored currency, dates no more than seven days apart, and rounded absolute amounts within the greater of 1,000 or 2% of the cash amount.
- High: same date and equal absolute amounts rounded to two decimals, with exactly one eligible unmatched cash and one eligible unmatched activity sharing that date/amount/currency key in the selected scope.
- Medium: equal rounded absolute amounts within the seven-day window, excluding records already participating in a High pair. Duplicate same-date amounts can therefore be Medium.
- Low: a nonzero rounded absolute-amount difference within the threshold, excluding records already in High. Multiple alternatives, including Medium/Low alternatives for a record, can remain.
In the screenshot, the USD250 date/amount/currency key is unique in the selected candidate pools. That explains High. The description and the actual account/source still need review before the relationship is saved.
The rules do not validate counterparty identity, signed direction, owner, category compatibility, settlement method or supporting documents. Absolute amounts deliberately ignore sign. High is not a probability or a reconciliation pass.
The Entity filter applies separately to the cash and activity lists, and records with no identified Entity can remain eligible. With All Entities selected, a proposed pair need not share an Entity. Confirm the legal account and business ownership before saving a link.
The underlying eligibility does not independently exclude reversed transactions or all In Kind/deemed-contribution cases. Check whether cash is actually expected. Same-currency pairing is not FX conversion.
Review before any correction
- Open both records and confirm source purpose, investor/subscriber or counterparty, owner and legal account.
- Compare actual dates, signs, currency and source evidence. A legitimate settlement lag does not authorize rewriting the activity date.
- Inspect existing links again before an authorized correction; another user may have changed eligibility since the query loaded.
- Use the supported cash/source maintenance workflow and explicit allocation for the genuine relationship. Do not create several full-value links for competing suggestions.
- Refresh and inspect the persisted link's type, target ID and allocated amount. Recheck Cash → Integrity and the relevant Cash Recon check.
This page provides a read-only, selectable table and record references. It contains no configured Accept Match action. Selection supplies context; it does not authorize or execute a change. A candidate disappearing proves only that eligibility changed.
Save a cash-split link
The following example shows how an authorized user saves a cash-split link. Saving the link associates existing records; it does not send money, import bank data or post accounting. Confirm the supporting evidence and your permissions before making the same type of change.
- Open Cash Id #4 and Activity Origin Incomes, Activity Id #1. Confirm the actual USD250 amount/date, counterparty, Entity #2 and Cedarbridge Matching Practice USD #3 account. IDs belong to different tables even when their numbers happen to match.
- Open Cash → Data. Select the verified account and a date range covering the transaction. Expand Cash Split Links and choose its Insert button—not Insert in Transactions or Cash Splits.
- Set Cash Split Id = #4, Related Type = Incomes, Related Id = Income #1, and Allocated Amount = +250. Inspect the full target label/ID in the selector. Leave Role blank for this income association; add an evidence-based note. Do not create another transaction or split for the receipt.
The native Add record form before saving. Cash Split #4, Income #1 and +250 are explicitly selected. The form is not an Accept Match action on the suggestions table.
- Choose Insert record. Wait for success, then reload and inspect the saved link. The saved Link #5 connects Cash Split #4 to Incomes #1 with +250 allocated. Verify all three typed references and the allocation after reloading; your organization will assign its own link ID.
- Return to Match Suggestions, keep Entity #2 and refresh. Recheck the exact source/link and Integrity; disappearance alone is not proof of a correct association.
After the USD250 link is saved and the separate USD400 link is corrected in the Integrity guide, Match Suggestions shows No results. Income #3 for USD420 still has no receipt linked in Cash & Activity, and USD80 remains unapplied.
Use Cash & Activity for the broader unmatched source queue, Integrity for the B-link correction, Transaction Explorer for an existing split and Cash Recon for formal validation.
A High suggestion still requires identity and ownership review. An empty result can coexist with unpaid or partially linked activities because those records may not meet this page's matching rules.
