Activity Integrity
Use Fund Operations → FundOps Recon → Activity Integrity to find incomplete operating records, inconsistent dates and broken notice/source references before relying on their activity history. The table checks one Investment Activity, Subscription Activity, Expense or Income per row.
Matched here means the configured integrity checks pass. Cash matching, required supporting documents, posted journals and period close are separate controls.
Understand the initial empty table
An operating record needs enough context to say whose event it is, what happened, when it happened and in what amount and currency. A stored notice reference must also resolve to the right kind of notice for the same owner. Activity Integrity tests these requirements so that later analysis can use the record meaningfully.
Invalid identifies a failed field, date or reference rule. Matched means those configured rules passed; it does not establish supporting-file coverage or settlement. A correctly formed call can still require both a document and a later contribution.
In the Core example, the subscription call and contribution have valid dates and references, so both can be Matched here. The call can still be missing its supporting notice document in Activity Document Coverage. Use the issue in the relevant control to decide which record or relationship needs work.
Select Entity and As of Date, then wait for the result. Clearing Entity broadens the population. The date limits source activity dates; undated activities remain eligible so their missing date can be reported. It is not a historical reconstruction of records before later edits.
The configured table filter is Default Visibility → Equals → Visible. On an ordinary visit this retains exceptions. When opened in a particular notice's context, related valid activities can also remain visible.
Cedarbridge Example Fund LP #1, August 31, 2026. No results under the default exception filter. The filter panel explains why the valid records are hidden.
To inspect the complete result, remove that condition in Filter and choose Apply Filters. To restore the configured view, add Default Visibility → Equals → Visible and apply it. A saved search or filter can narrow the result further; check these before treating an empty table as proof that no activities exist.
Read the activity, owner and issue together
The issue identifies where interpretation breaks down. A missing owner prevents attribution; a missing date prevents dated analysis; an inconsistent period reverses the intended interval; an invalid notice reference connects the event to the wrong expectation. Correct the evidenced fact or relationship rather than changing an amount that is unrelated to the issue.
After removing the default condition, six fictional records appear: one Expense, two Investment Activities and three Subscription Activities. All are Matched with a blank Recon Issue. The separate unfunded subscription has no activities, so it contributes no rows to this check.
Activity identifies the operating event. Owner identifies its Investment or Subscription; for Expense/Income, Owner refers to that same Expense/Income record. Read the reference with Type because #1 can exist in several tables.
The example's USD100,000 Subscription Commitment, Capital Call and Contribution are three different events. The Capital Call and its payment activity must not be added together as two cash payments. Likewise, the USD40,000 Investment Capital Call and Contribution are notice and funding records. This table is an integrity population, not a cash-flow total.
Invalid means at least one configured check failed; Recon Issue gives the reason. Review all listed reasons:
- Missing owner or fund context: Investment/Subscription reference, receiving Share Class/Entity, or Expense/Income Entity.
- Missing core fields: Activity Date, Category, Amount or Currency.
- Date conflicts: activity after Subscription Close Date, expiration before an Investment/Subscription activity date, or Expense/Income period end before period start.
- Invalid Notice Reference: the referenced notice is missing, belongs to another owner or has the wrong notice category.
- Incomplete Source Reference or Missing Transfer Source: a Subscription Activity's source type/ID pair is incomplete, or its referenced Subscription Transfer is absent.
A blank Notice is not automatically an error. The check validates an existing notice reference; it does not require one on every category. It also does not flag an activity simply because it precedes a Subscription's effective date.
Inspect dates and supporting links
Scroll right for Category, Currency, Notice, Activity Explorer, Documents, Cash Splits, Entity and Description.
The same six rows, in the same order, after horizontal scrolling. Investment Contribution #2 references Investment Capital Call #1; Subscription Contribution #3 references Subscription Capital Call #2. Only the three cash-moving example records have cash links.
For Investment/Subscription activities, Due Date comes from the activity's due date. For Expense/Income rows, this shared column displays Period Start, not a payment deadline. The example expense shows July 1 while its Activity Date is August 31; its period ends September 30. Use the source record to interpret that period.
Activity Explorer opens the shared trail in Fund Overview. Notice references open the linked activity. Documents opens existing linked documents; Cash Splits opens the source-filtered split link records. These supporting relationships reflect current stored records, not their historical state at As of Date.
An empty Documents cell means no linked document was returned. It is not, by itself, this tab's Invalid condition. Use Activity Document Coverage for required-document exceptions and Activity → Cash for eligible cash-matching exceptions. A cash link count does not verify its allocated amount.
Repair the record, then refresh the check
Open the specific Activity and Owner and compare the issue with supporting evidence. Correct the owning record in Subscriptions → Activity, Investments → Activity or Incomes & Expenses → Data, respecting permissions and locks. For a bad notice reference, identify the correct notice for the same owner; do not create a duplicate contribution or alter its value to hide the issue.
Refresh the check with the same scope. Confirm the issue disappears and, if inspecting the full population, the row becomes Matched. That resolves this integrity check only; continue the other relevant recons.
Rows can be selected for context in an available assistant workflow. Selection itself does not edit, post or lock anything.
