Accounting
Use Fund Organization → Data Locks → Accounting to inspect individual unlocked Accounting and Fees records. Use it after financial review to identify records that still need protection; it does not perform posting, fee calculation, capital allocation, period close or reviewer sign-off.
Choose entity and review dates
Set Year and Entity, then select Accounting Period. Recheck the period after changing Entity or Year because dependent options may reset. The fictional example below uses Cedarbridge Example Fund LP and Q3 2026.
A specific accounting period takes precedence over Year. All periods uses the selected year; All years and All periods broadens the date scope. This tab's period represents a date window, rather than a guarantee that every row is directly assigned to that accounting-period ID.
Journal entries and lines may qualify through their entry date or their associated period's overlap. Effective ranges and capital-account lifetimes use overlap; undated master records, such as GL accounts, are not restricted to creation in that quarter. Some posting rules apply organization-wide and can remain visible with an Entity selected. Inspect the underlying record and its relationships before acting.
Read the unlocked accounting population
The list answers which existing eligible accounting and fee records are still unprotected. A journal, its lines and its accounting period are separate records with separate statuses and lock states. Their presence in one queue does not imply that they are approved or that they should all be locked before investigation. Group counts total those records, rather than debit and credit amounts.
The fictional example below demonstrates these different objects.
Real local app with fictional records. Year 2026, Cedarbridge Example Fund LP and Q3 2026 are selected. Accounting → Acct Periods is expanded.
There are 6 unlocked records: two GL accounts, accounting period #1, draft journal entry #1 and its two journal lines. Acct Periods is expanded to show period #1 with Date 2026-07-01, its start date. Last Edited is an audit timestamp, not its close date or evidence of approval. The example period remains open.
The draft journal and its lines exist, but their presence does not establish posting or approval. This entity has no capital-account transactions or fee-run outputs in the example; their absence does not mean they were reviewed, locked or unnecessary. The list contains only eligible existing unlocked records; it is not an inventory of required outputs.
Group and table Rows totals count records, not debit/credit values or financial exceptions. Do not add parent counts to their expanded details.
Review before protecting
Expand Accounting or Fees, then the source table. Open the Record reference to inspect the actual object. A journal entry, journal line, posting rule, allocation run and fee run are distinct records even when their numeric IDs match.
Use Accounting Operations to trace operating sources and journals. Use Fees & Capital Allocations for fee and capital-account processing, and Accounting Review & Close for the GL → Gross NAV → Fees → Capital Allocations → Final Close checks. Confirm the same entity and period in each destination.
Select the intended individual records and check the selection count. Group or header checkboxes can select records beyond those currently visible. An admin can use Lock selected rows when it is available for the selection; confirm the target tables, IDs and scope first. If the action is absent, check your role, the selected record sources and whether their lock states have loaded. Ask an administrator to check the table’s locking configuration if needed.
Locking a period row is not closing that accounting period. Locking a journal entry does not establish that every journal line, source, fee record or related capital-account transaction is also locked. Check the relevant tables independently.
Verify the result and handle corrections
After an authorized lock operation, refresh under the same filters, inspect the original records' actual lock state and compare Data Locks → Overview. A record dropping out of an unlocked-only list is not sufficient proof without that readback.
Before correcting protected accounting records, follow the authorized correction/unlocking process, preserve the reason and rerun affected accounting checks. Do not directly alter a result or insert replacement journals merely to clear this queue.
The scoped Locks tab in Accounting Review & Close supports the closing workflow, while this app provides consolidated visibility. Recheck each tab's filters and eligible tables before comparing counts. A clean check, a closed period and protected rows are separate evidence; none substitutes for the others.
